Debra E Peebles operates the Backroads app and is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

• Account data: your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, a basic profile.
• Trip content you create: trip titles, stops, notes, photos, and passport stamps. This lives in your browser by default.
• Subscription data: plan status, billing period, and subscription identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Paddle and never reach our servers.
• Usage & security data: standard logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) to keep the service running.

• To provide the app to you (contract).
• To manage your subscription and access to Premium features (contract).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
• To respond to support requests (legitimate interest / contract).

• Paddle — our Merchant of Record for subscriptions, payments, tax, and invoicing.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) that store account data.
• Authorities where required by law.

Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted or anonymised when no longer needed. Trip content stored in your browser is under your control and can be cleared any time.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data. Contact us using the details on the site and we'll respond within one month.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege service credentials — to protect your data.

We use only essential cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to remember your trip data. We do not run advertising cookies.
